Ask children whose families use teabags to touch their nose. If possible show children some tea leaves and talk about these. Ask the children to think through the steps of making a cup of tea. What do they do first, what do they do last? Talk about the order being important. It’s no good putting the water into the teapot before the tea! Making tea 1. Put the kettle on first. 2. Get out the teapot and tea. 3. Get out the cups and saucers or mugs. 4. Put some milk in. 5. Warm the teapot. 6. Put in the tea or teabag.

When all the children have finished, read the list to them and talk about the foods.
